Welcome to Green Book Online — the first and only free platform built to uplift Black-owned businesses by increasing visibility, promoting economic circulation, and providing tools for growth.

This Business Owner Policy outlines your rights, responsibilities, and benefits when you list your business or engage with Green Book Online services.

1. Our Commitment to You

By joining Green Book Online, you get:

• A free business profile page
• Access to essential business tools (messaging, analytics, customer engagement)
• Connection to a growing network of consumers who intentionally support Black-owned businesses
• Exposure through our community campaigns, promotions, and search engine

We are here to help your business grow — without hidden fees or gatekeeping.

2. Eligibility

To create a business profile, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Represent a Black-owned business
• Have the legal authority to manage the business listing
  • By submitting your business, you affirm that the information provided is accurate and truthful.

3. Business Profile Guidelines

Your business profile must:

• Accurately describe your services, products, and location
• Include real photos, contact information, and business hours (if applicable)
• Stay updated with any major changes to your business

You may not:

• Misrepresent your ownership, service area, or business credentials
• Use copyrighted or stolen content without permission
• List false promotions or deceptive claims

We reserve the right to edit, reject, or remove any listing that violates our standards or is found to be misleading, offensive, or fraudulent.

4. Platform Conduct Expectations

As a listed business, you agree to:

• Treat consumers with respect and professionalism
• Fulfill services honestly and reliably
• Never discriminate against users based on race, gender, identity, disability, religion, or background
• Not abuse, harass, or mislead users or other businesses on the platform

Violation of these principles may result in removal from the platform. .

5. Free Services Disclaimer

Green Book Online currently provides services to business owners at no cost. These services may include:

• Business profile hosting
• Basic analytics
• Customer messaging
• Placement in directory and promotional campaigns

We reserve the right to introduce new tools or premium offerings in the future, but we will never charge retroactively or without clear consent.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all original business content (e.g., images, logos, descriptions) you upload. However, by submitting content to Green Book Online, you grant us permission to:

• Display, promote, or feature your content across our website, apps, and social channels
• Use your business data (non-personal) to improve the platform and our collective visibility
• We will never sell your content or misuse your brand.

7. Privacy and Data Handling

Your personal and business data is protected in accordance with our [Privacy Policy]. We only collect the information necessary to provide and improve your experience on the platform. We do not sell your data.

You can request edits or deletion of your business listing at any time by contacting us.

8. Platform Updates & Service Availability

Green Book Online may update features, tools, or terms as we grow. While we aim for uninterrupted service, we may occasionally need to perform maintenance or improve functionality. We’re building for the long haul and will always keep you informed.

9. Termination or Removal

We reserve the right to suspend or remove business profiles that:

• Mislead consumers
• Receive multiple valid complaints
• Violate platform policies or community standards

We may also remove inactive profiles after a prolonged period with no activity.
